Cynthia L. Hoyle, FAICP, has over 25 years of planning experience with an emphasis on transportation. Consultant activities have focused on creating livable multimodal communities. Her passion is promoting choice and livability. Cynthia is a Fellow of the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE). She served on the ITE 1998 Outstanding Traffic Engineering Council Project for the Recommended Practice entitled “Design and Safety of Pedestrian Facilities”.
In addition to being a founding partner of Orion Planning Group, Cynthia is also currently Principal of Hoyle Consulting which she founded in 2001. She has been retained as the Transportation Planning Consultant for the Champaign-Urbana Mass Transit District (CUMTD), 2002 to present. Consultant activities have focused on creating livable multimodal communities including coordination of community education workshops and campaigns; advocacy for walking, biking and transit-supportive development on behalf of the CUMTD with local units of government, providing expert consultation to promote transit-supportive development, walking, biking and the reduction of sprawl, and representing CUMTD as a steering committee member on local planning projects.
Prior to that she was Principal with Planning Consultants where she was involved in a number of comprehensive plans, strategic plans, training workshops. She has also worked as the Traffic Planner for the City of Oklahoma City.
