Modoc County Short Range Transit Development and Marketing Plan

Mobility Planners (prime) and Transit Marketing recently completed a Short Range Transit Development Plan and Marketing Plan for the Modoc County, a “frontier” county in the northeast corner of California.  The system operates intercity

routes which connect with the neighboring communities of Redding (CA), Reno (NV) and Klamath Falls (OR), as well as local Dial-a-Ride services.  The project included extensive outreach and performance analysis to identify strategies for increasing ridership and service efficiency on the existing routes.  In addition, the outreach explored the potential demand for service to Cedarville and Ft. Bidwell, unserved communities within Modoc County, and for coordination with the Tribal TANF program to “guarantee” ridership.  Coordination was undertaken with the Susanville Rancheria for the Reno-Susanville-Alturas route.

In addition to the service plan, the project included the development of a comprehensive marketing plan and marketing toolkit.  The toolkit included an updated identify for the system, visibility-building vehicle and bus stop signage designs and a professionally produced passenger guide to enhance customer communications.

Mobility Planners LLC, Transit Marketing LLC and Trillium Solutions, Inc are collaborating on an add-on contract amendment to redesign the Sage Stage website.
